When you work with PAR, you're helping give a green home to a neighbor in need.
Join the PAR “Get a home. Give a home.” Project.
Each time you sell or purchase a house through a participating agent, you're helping donate to the construction of an energy efficient home for a neighbor in need. In other words, every time you work with PAR, you’re helping the community, too.
Our donations support Habitat for Humanity, one of the world’s most respected nonprofit organizations. The group is hard at work building homes in Lafayette right now. The best part — the recipients help to build their house, too!
The donated homes meet Energy Star levels of energy efficiency, keeping monthly bills to a minimum. This gives an additional boost to the family by reducing their energy bills through design techniques implemented by students in UL’s graduate architecture program. Who better to benefit from low utility bills than people in need?
It's not enough to simply buy and sell homes. We need to do more. Together we will build a better Acadiana, one home at a time.
About Ms. Louida
While we intend to support Habitat for Humanity for some time, our current mission focuses on Ms. Louida Fusilier's next home. Ms. Louida lived in Truman subdivision next door to the church where she participated as a sacristan. When the church caught fire, her house also fell victim to the blaze. The church is being rebuilt and Habitat for Humanity has taken on the job of giving Ms. Louida a home.
In partnership with UL, Ms. Louida's new home will meet incredibly high energy efficiency standards. The modern design focuses on physical and spiritual accommodation, including increased ambient light, easy access bath facilities and a custom designed prayer space.
The walls were built recently in the church parking lot. We're hoping to play a major role in the next steps toward Ms. Louida's home. Follow us on Facebook to see our progress.
